Tatsfield Martial Arts (TMA)
Opened in 2015, by Adam Plinston (6th Dan Judo / 4th Dan Japanese Jujitsu / Purple Belt BJJ). Adam has over 46 years experience training in the martial arts, including over 30 years as a qualified coach. He started training in judo in 1980 and then jujitsu around 1985, gaining his first black belt in 1993.
Although a former competitive player, Adam believes there is more to the martial arts then just winning medals and so our classes offer something for everyone from complete beginners to advanced black belts, from recreational to competitive players.
We offer classes in Judo, modern Japanese Jujitsu and Combat Fitness and we are registered with both the British Judo Association (BJA) and the National Association of Karate and Martial Arts Schools (NAKMAS). Our instructors are qualified and insured, DBS checked and first aid trained.
Adam is a full time martial arts coach and as well as running Tatsfield Martial Arts, he teaches regular classes at Yoshin Ryu judo club in Surrey. He is also the Chair for the BJA Surrey Judo Committee, a Senior Examiner & Technical Assessor with both the BJA and NAKMAS, plus a BJA National C Referee. He is also very active in local schools, running both judo and jujitsu classes as well as providing bespoke self defence courses to a number different organisations.
