Japanese Jujitsu is one of the oldest martial arts and is widely practised for its practical self-defence techniques. With roots stretching back centuries, it was developed as the unarmed combat system of the Samurai, enabling them to defend themselves when weapons were unavailable.
Modern Japanese Jujitsu combines a wide range of techniques, including striking, throws, grappling, joint locks, choke holds and ground control. Training develops effective self-defence skills while also improving fitness, coordination, confidence and self-discipline.
Often described as the foundation of many modern Japanese martial arts, Japanese Jujitsu has influenced disciplines such as Judo and Aikido. Today, it remains a versatile and effective martial art, suitable for students of all ages and abilities who want to learn practical self-defence in a safe, supportive environment.
