Welcome to Tatsfield Martial Arts

We provide classes in traditional Kodokan Judo and Japanese Ju Jitsu at our dojo based at Tatsfield Scout Hut in Surrey. We welcome all ages and abilities to our classes and cater for complete beginners to competition level players. We also work with local organisations such as schools and Scouting to provide both long and short-term martial arts and self defence courses.

The clubs founder Adam Plinston holds black belts in both Judo and Ju Jitsu. He has been training in martial arts since 1979, gaining his first black-belt in 1993 and has been a qualified coach since 1996.

Tatsfield Martial Arts is affiliated to the BJA (British Judo Association) and NAKMAS (National Association of Karate & Martial Arts Schools)

What we offer

JUDO (the Gentle Way) has developed into probably the best know & most popular Japanese martial art. An Olympic sport since 1964,   Judo focuses on using an opponents force and aggression against them – incorporating throws, holds, locking and choking techniques.  An exciting and safe combat sport!

JU-JITSU (the Gentle Art)  is one of the oldest martial arts in existence,  the unarmed combat art of the Samurai warrior.  It is often referred to as the father of Japanese martial arts – incorporating the throws of judo,  the strikes of karate and the locks of aikido.  A traditional martial art and effective self defense system.

SELF DEFENCE & HIIT FITNESS courses tailored to meet individual needs that offer practical advice and simple techniques. No martial arts suits, rules or syllabus to follow, just simple and effective techniques along with martial art based fitness drills.
